Join VeggieTales Music Director, Kurt Heinecke and his daughter, elementary school music teacher, Gretchen Demonbreun for Ukulele Adventures with Musik at Home! From Kurt's crazy, quirky instrument-packed studio in Nashville, you'll learn the fundamentals of Ukulele with chords, rhythm and melodies. By the end of the course, you'll know how to play over 10 songs and will have the skills to learn to play hundreds more. And...You might just be able to spot Larry the Cucumber in the background.
Kurt Heinecke here! I’m so excited to be getting involved with Musik at Home as they expand their musical offerings!
A little about me- I’ve been around music all my life- my mom was a piano and voice teacher and choir director. I grew up singing in choir next to my dad. My older brothers are both music teachers. My 3 children are music teachers or headed into music education. Naturally…I got a music education degree…in band and choral conducting! I’ve been a general music teacher, junior and senior high band director, church music director, and a touring and studio musician. More recently I’ve also been a composer and producer. As Director of Music for Big Idea and “VeggieTales” for 25 years, I’ve composed scores, written songs with the likes of Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber, arranged, produced, performed, and led full orchestras and choirs. I now live outside Nashville, Tennessee with my wife, Judy, where I continue to compose, record, and speak at colleges and schools around the country
Music is obviously very important and special to me. I love helping others find their joy in music- for themselves and those they get to share it with. I look forward to what we’ll get to do together!
